This pedal has been designed to offer the low-gain drive you’d typically associate with the Dumble-ish sounds heard on John Mayer’s Continuum album. Subtle drive matched with clarity makes this an ideal pedal for clean blues, or combined with another drive or boost to create some awesome, singing crunch.
The gain control can take you from unity, through boost to crunch and drive while the volume lets you alter the overall output of the pedal with little change to the level of overdrive. Finally, the central tone/filter control gives you subtle, yet fine-tuned control over the mids – essential tweaking as you move between pickups. It works great as a low-gain drive with humbuckers but works even better with Strat single coils.
This PCB has been specifically designed to match the drill pattern of the Tayda Electronics pre-drilled 1590b enclosures. This particular effect fits the Type 4 Drilled enclosure with space for each of the 3 controls and the top-centre hole spare for the LED.
This board has been designed with a detachable 3PDT daughter board – just solder this to your footswitch with the small arrows facing those on the main board and connect each of the pads to their counterparts. Solder your input and output jacks to the daughter board and you’re ready to go!
When you buy this PCB you will also get:
- The PCB itself
- Bill of materials (BOM)
- Build instructions document
If you want a head-start on this build, you can upgrade to receive a set of J201 JFET transistors (currently very difficult to locate) and you can even opt to have these SMT components pre-soldered to your board.
